| Lingcod are one of the most unique fish in Alaskan waters. They are usually found in very rocky areas along the bottom. The fishing grounds for these prehistoric monsters is a 2 hr run from Homer into the simply breathtaking beauty of the Gulf of Alaska. Jigging is the most common method of catching these hard fighting lizards. They have a mouth full of razor sharp teeth and are surely a ferocious predator. When you hook into one of these you will certainly know it. They can weigh in excess of 80 lbs! Lingcod have very moist, white, flaky meat and are just as delicious as halibut. The limit on lingcod is 2 per person. |
